When the Command Prompt with admin rights, when it opens up, type in or copy paste the following command and then hit Enter. The partial wifi connection as 'public' seemed to clearly show an issue with authentication, but not an obvious cause. The only temporary solution I had up to this point was to disable and re-enable the wifi device per session, which at least allowed me to connect to the internet. I've been battling a similar sounding problem for a few days, tried every hack I could find on the internet, resetting the access point(s), updating drivers, older drivers/newer drivers, Microsoft drivers/Broadcom drivers, command line hacks to reset tcp etc, nothing worked.
